IN-HOUSE SOLICITOR

    An opportunity exists to work as a Solicitor within Legal Services of the Police Association of NSW.  This is a permanent full-time position based in the Sydney CBD and the successful applicant will have a current practicing certificate and a minimum 3 years PQE.  Areas of experience will include; workers compensation, personal injury, employment, industrial relations and ADR processes.

    The position requires a person capable of managing high profile workloads with highly developed written and oral communication skills. 

    Demonstrated advocacy experience including appearance at the Industrial Relations Commission (NSW) and Workers Compensation Commission is essential.  A good working knowledge of the Workers Compensation Act/Workplace Injury Management Act, Industrial Relations Act, Police Act and Police Regulations (Superannuation) Act is also a prerequisite.

    The successful applicant will work closely with a small group of dedicated lawyers to provide legal advice, advocate and negotiate on behalf of the Union in various jurisdictions.
